Austin has been ranked No. 14 nationally among most sustainable cities by a Web site promoting sustainable living in the U.S.

Among Texas cities, San Antonio came in at 21 and Dallas ranked 24. El Paso was No. 31, Houston No. 39, Arlington No. 41 and Fort Worth, No. 46.

Portland, Ore., was ranked most sustainable, and Columbus, Ohio, was ranked least sustainable.

The 2006 SustainLane U.S. City Rankings combined data and information from surveys and interviews and included 15 individual category rankings.
