HONOLULU (AP) _ Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann will be in Las Vegas tomorrow for the opening of the 74th annual meeting of the U-S Conference of Mayors.

The gathering runs through Tuesday. But Hannemann says he'll only stay the one day and return home Saturday.

The mayor's office says the nation's mayors will be discussing the SustainLane 2006 U-S City Rankings. Honolulu placed 15th among America's largest cities on essential quality-of-life and economic factors.

Hannemann says the ranking confirms Honolulu is heading in the right direction, especially since it wasn't even in the top 25 last year.
